Bnnonline24.com DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban this evening. "Sheikh Hasina apprised the President of overall flood situation across the country and various steps taken to overcome this natural calamity with sufficient stock of food grains," President's Press Secretary Mohammad Joynal Abedin told BSS. The premier informed the President that the local administration as well as the public representatives were given directives to take necessary steps to stand by the flood affected people. Advising the authorities concerned to involve the people's representatives with the process to reduce the sufferings of the flood-hit people, the President called for ensuring proper distribution of relief goods among the actual victims.
Sheikh Hasina reached Bangabhaban at 7:30 pm. On her arrival, the Prime Minister was received by President Hamid. The Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office and Secretaries concerned to the President were present.
